XSLT for Publishing
Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple, very flexible text format derived from SGML. Originally designed to meet the challenges of large-scale electronic publishing, XML is also playing an increasingly important role in the exchange of a wide variety of data on the Web and elsewhere.
Overview:
This three-day course teaches participants the skills necessary to create and maintain XSLT style sheets for processing, manipulating and publishing XML documents.
Delivery: Instructor-led, hands-on delivery either online, on-site at your place of business or at Front Runner. Our custom training meets your needs.

Prerequisites:
XMLEssentials
or familiarity with XML concepts and syntax.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion attendees will be able to:
•Design and author XSLT style sheets for processing XML documents, such as DITA topics
•Understand the relationship between XSLT and the companion XPath language
•Specify components of XML documents with XPath expressions
•Select, sort, and manipulate XML content using XSLT and XPath
•Transform XML documents from authoring vocabularies such as DITA and DocBook to publishing vocabularies, such as XSLT for Web display and XSL-FO for print
•Customize industry-standard XSLT style sheets, such as the DITA Open Toolkit and the DocBook stylesheets, to meet your publishing requirements.
•Run XSLT transformations using industry-standard XSLT processors, such as Microsoft MSXML, Apache Xalan, and Saxon•Analyze XML content with XSLT 2.0 and XQuery
