| Overview: This three-day course teaches participants the skills necessary to author and publish DITA-compliant documents with Adobe FrameMaker 7.2 and the Adobe DITA plug-in. Students will learn the concepts behind DITA, such as information typing and topic-based authoring.

Objectives: Upon successful completion attendees will be able to:
- Understand the history, philosophy, and motivation behind DITA.
- Create task, concept, and reference topics using structured FrameMaker 7.2.
- Create DITA map files to specify collections of topics.
- Use DITA map files to specify hierarchical and sequential relationships between topics.
- Publish DITA topics as FrameMaker books.
- Integrate FrameMaker 7.2 with the DITA Open Toolkit for publishing to HTML and other formats.
- Understand DITA content references (conrefs) to re-use DITA content.
- Apply Metadata to support filtering of DITA content for multiple audiences.
- Customize the FrameMaker DITA template to adjust the format of DITA PDF output.
- Specialize the FrameMaker DITA plug-in to meet more specific information modeling requirements.
